All employers must submit their end of year returns online via the internet or electronically. 

Self assessment forms

Currently there is no legislation that insists on your returns being done online, but it can be a weight off your shoulders to know that with online filing you (or your agent) will receive an immediate receipt of acknowledgement on completion. This is just an acknowledgement, not notification that all has been assessed. Online payment can also be a secure and quick method to pay outstanding balances.
